Summary:  The associate will be involved with programming and configuration of Allen-Bradley PLC-5, SLC, Control Logix, Compact Logix, and Micro Logix.  Many of the programs will need to be uploaded and tested on customer sites as well as supporting the technical service people.  With more than 500 equipment installations in North America, travel is required. 
 
Time Utilization:  This position will require travel up to 60-70% of the time for technical support.  Schedule needs to be flexible to accommodate customer schedules.
Compensation:  Commensurate with previous experience
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (other duties may be assigned):
1. The associate needs strong electrical and mechanical knowledge and experience.
2. The associate will troubleshoot and program such platforms as Allen Bradley, Compact Logix, Ethernet, and Devicenet.
3. Experience working with packaging equipment, specifically tray sealers, fillers, dosers, form/fill/seal equipment, case erecting, automatic loading, sleeving, cartoning, closing, flow wrap, shrink wrap, vertical and horizontal thermoforming is desired.
4. Ability to read mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics is essential.

Associate must be capable of Allen Bradley PLC programming and trouble-shooting.  B&R programming experience a plus.  Experience with Compact Logic, Micro Logic, SLC500 and RS View.
Electrical and mechanical knowledge is required.  Must be a self-starter with a commitment to delivering exceptional quality along with strong interpersonal skills. 
Education/Experience:
High school diploma or GED required.  Technical schooling in electricity, electronics or equipment maintenance desired.  A minimum of 2 years experience in field service in a related industry is preferred. 
 
Language Ability: 
Ability to read and interpret documents including mechanical blueprints and electrical schematics.
Math Ability:  N/A
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to assess and define problems, interpret instruction and act accordingly.  
Computer Skills:  Must have familiarity with MS Office Suite and Windows platform.
Certificates and Licenses:  Current valid drivers license and the ability to obtain a passport for travel.

Work is performed in a combination of office, shop/warehouse environments. Exposure to fluctuating hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to warehouse elements such as noise, dust, odors, fumes, oils.

The ability to lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.  Ability to sit for extended durations when traveling by car or airplane. Keen hearing and sight ability (close and distance vision) for detecting any abnormalities with the machines.  Proper use of safety devices as required for the safe operation of all machinery, tools and equipment.
